Another week has flown by. I’m finding myself thinking that summer is practically over. I know it’s not, but to a teacher, August can feel like one looooonnnng Sunday night. When it’s all said and done, I usually find myself grieving the end of summer and craving a routine all at the same time. I’m starting to feel that way already.
I’m not quite ready to give up on Summer yet though! This week has been another one of celebrating and relaxing. There is plenty to be thankful for and this week I found myself counting my blessing multiple times.
So here are a few things I am thankful for this week.
We celebrated Aaron’s GOLDEN 27th Birthday on Monday! As I said last week, I love birthdays and the time to celebrate the people you love. Aaron’s is one of my favorites (although I have the biggest problem buying him gifts….anyone else with me on that???). This week I was more than thankful for Aaron and saw that especially in the way he handles challenging situations that arise. It amazes me how he can brush things off his shoulders while most would dwell and use that as an excuse to become bitter or angry. It amazes me, when things are less than favorable, that he can focus on the positive. This and so many other character traits that he has really pushed me to be a better person and I appreciate that about him. Happy Birthday, sweetie! 🙂
This week on Friday I have the opportunity to celebrate my sister at her pinning ceremony. She has been in PA school at Bethel University for a little over a year, and in that time I have been more than impressed with her intense hard work and determination. In times that she could have curled up and checked out, she pushed on, she persevered and she made it. I am incredibly proud of her and excited as she starts her clinical’s this year.
Time to Relax
Right now Aaron is away in Nevada and California to pick up his sister’s from the John Muir Trail and this weekend he was away up North. I love spending time with Aaron and usually do not like nights to myself but this weekend, I decided to enjoy some “me time.” Saturday night was wonderful. I spent a good chunk of time at the gym and really enjoyed my work out! I even allowed myself to go in the Sauna after I was done! For dinner that night, I stopped by Trader Joe’s and picked up some Sushi, Chicken Salad, and PB&J yogurt (weird, I know, but I had to try it – verdicts out on the taste). I also spent time walking around Hobby Lobby and ended my night watching Re-runs of the office and working on a craft project. Overall, I really enjoyed my “me time.”
Yesterday, although I had a half day at school, I spent the rest of the day with Kelsey. Spending time with this girl is always incredibly fun and energizing. I so appreciate the time I have with her to chat and process through everything. I go through withdrawals in the summer when I don’t see her daily!
My Water Bottle
When I drink enough water I notice that I feel more energized and healthy. Ever since I got my new Camelbak Water Bottle a couple months ago, I have noticed that it helps me to drink more water throughout the day. I think it has something to do with the straw. Whatever it is, it works for me! I just hope that I don’t lose yet another water bottle (Side note: I was going to include my water bottle last week, but I thought I lost it!)
That’s it for today! So much to be thankful for this week! Now I am looking forward to Aaron’s return and going to see my sister’s pinning ceremony this weekend! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!
Stay Balanced! <3 Kendra
