I can always tell school is about to start by my dreams. Last week I had a dream about copying paper. Riveting, right? Well school has been fully on my mind and I am going into the classroom on any and every day I am not working at the golf course. Life is busy once again, and the weather is starting to tell me fall is right around the corner!
I do love summer, the warm weather, the grill, the beach, and all that goes with it, but there is something about fall. I think I am a typical girl in this sense. I am sure you have said it or heard it before. I love the boots, scarves, football, and everything pumpkin!!! I can’t wait for this and with the weather the way that it is this week and the beginning signs of fall decorations and candy corn in the store, I am getting a little ahead of myself in this area.
So here are a few things I am thankful for this week.
I don’t think I can say enough how proud I am of this guy. He pushed through and completed his first 70.3 marathon!! That is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 run. Not tough enough? Well try doing it when it is 95 degrees and humid! This guy pushed through injury, braved the heat and completed this baby. Who does something like this for his first triathlon ever??! It was so fun to watch him and run with him on the 13.1. I loved watching him finish this race and crash into an ice bath. What a huge accomplishment.
The weather today was absolutely phenomenal. I believe it made it to a high of 70 and sunny. The last couple of cooler days have been a welcomed change from the humidity and heat. I woke up and went for a run and could actually run a normal pace without feeling like I might be dying!! Yay!!!
I’ve mentioned a couple of times that I am working a summer job at a golf course. I only have a few days left here and this will be my last summer, but I am thankful I had the opportunity to do this. Although there are days that are less than glamorous, that I hate shift work, and days that I feel older than I am at a job like this, this summer job is a nice way to spend time outside and make some extra cash. Honestly, I have done this the past two summers to help pay off our loans and it has been a huge help. Not to mention, a relaxing and generally easy job where people are typically happy and, better yet, happy to see me. I am very happy to have had this opportunity.
That’s it for now! I hope you all are having a great week! As I’m doing these thankful Thursday posts, I’d love to hear some things you have been thankful for this week!!
Stay Balanced! <3 Kendra
